10 pound, 7 ounce tubby!
We made it! Hudson finally hit his 10 pound mark (we knew it wouldn't take him long- he acts like he's STARVING every second!).
We saw his pediatrician this morning, he weighed 10lbs. 7 oz. What a fatty! He's gained over 3 pounds and he's hardly 6 weeks old. The funny thing is... he still has super skinny legs (thanks Corder men) and not even that big of a belly. It looks as though all 3 pounds are stored in his cheeks and multiple chins. Poor baby- he can't help it!
We also found out Hudson has his first ear infection- the first of many apparently. He doesn't seem to be in too much pain, but we're putting him on meds asap and hopefully he'll be feeling 100% in no time!
That's all to report at this time!

Just another day at the office!
Hudson had his first day "at work" today. He was going to the office, so he HAD to wear a tie (okay, it was a onesie with a tie on it, but it was still SUPER cute!). Now that I've started back to work Hudson will be spending his days with his Grammie, at her law office. We hope it was an uneventful day, I'll get a full update from Grammie and post an update later.
ENT appointment
Hudson had his first ENT appointment in Dallas this morning. It wasn't TOO traumatic, but they did have to perform a nasal endoscopy to look at his vocal chords, sinuses, and esophagus. he screamed and cried, but who wouldn't? It was determined he does have acid reflux and the doctor prescribed him prevacid to take twice a day with the zantac he currently takes! HD will also have tubes put in his ears when his nasal and lip surgery is done in April. Poor kid! Luckily, Aunt Kim tagged along for the doctor appointment and made everything better! Hudson said "Thanks for the lovin' Auntie!"

HD's first roadtrip to Htown- Feb. 13-18
Luckily, the drive down was pretty uneventful. He slept most of the way, and only needed to stop once to eat! We were so thankful!
Of course Kywol and Ash were there to greet us when we arrived! Poor Ashley had trouble with her allergies, but wanted to make sure she wasn't really sick- so she went and bought some medical masks to wear! Pretty hilarious!
Meeting Auntie Bo-da! Thanks for the letters, they look SUPER cute in his room! I'll post pictures when it's finally put together!

Pappy helped with a little "babysitting!"
Aunt Abby loves her some Hudson!
The cousins FINALLY met HD! Grace and Madeline were SO sweet to him!
We HAD to go to Gringo's for some REAL Mexican food. Marissa, Chris, Judge Bev and Donna joined Hudson, Mom and I!
Judge Bev loving on H-man! She knew how to rock him to sleep even in a noisy restaurant!
Last- but not least- Hudson had to meet Julie, my wonderful, precious hair dresser! I was LONG overdue for a haircut, and Julie gave me my first "Mommy do." It's super cute, and I'm loving it! I'll post pictures of the final results later!

Cutest gift.... besides H-Man
I can't believe he's ONE MONTH OLD!
Yesterday, Hudson had his 1 month "birthday." At the pediatrician's office he weighed 9lbs. 7.5oz! He is SUCH a big boy, he almost didn't fit into his 1 month onesie!
Hudson would like to send a special, BIG thank you to his cousin, Bobbi Nell! She made Hudson's special outfit for his 1 month birthday. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We love it!

Ginger is taking OVER!
I couldn't help myself. I HAD to take these pictures and post them.
Ginger has decided to reclaim her status as the "only child." She's even taken over Hudson's toys, boppy and papasan. She constantly looks like she's wondering "When is this kid going home?" As you can see, Ginger never wanted a little brother. Maybe she'll adjust when he gets big enough to drop food on the floor for her.
We'll see...

Tubby, tubby two by four!
I couldn't resist updating about Hudson's pediatrician weight check appointment this morning. He is now an ASTONISHING
8 lb 15.5 oz.
I almost fell over. At this rate, we could've had his first surgery next week! The pedi told us last week he was going through a growth spurt- but MAN an entire pound over ONE WEEK! WOW! He said newborns his age usually gain an ounce a day- well... Hudson decided to put those other newborns to shame by gaining a ridiculous 2 ounces a day! I, of course, was worried about over feeding the tubby one, but the doctor assured me you CANNOT over feed an infant. So, feed AWAY!!!
Well... Hudson's awake from his nap, and STARVING (of course!).

Busy,busy day!
We began our morning at the orthodontist's office.
All was well until.....
We got the retainer!!!
We got the retainer!!!
Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad at the doctor's office. Hudson had just finished a bottle. He was relaxed and asleep. The doctor came in, showed us the appliance, how to put it in, how to clean it, and that was it!
Here's what it looks like...
He has to wear it until his second surgery at 9 months. We have to take it out and clean it after every feeding. It's held in his mouth with Fixodent! This appliance provides a temporary roof in his mouth, and will ensure his palate won't collapse as he continues to grow.

What we're excited about is... his new BIG BOY BOTTLE! He is able to use a "normal" bottle with his new retainer. He still isn't able to form a suction, but can use his tongue and the retainer to "gum it" (the bottle nipple). It's pretty neat!
After a long, hard day he needed a nice relaxing bath,... so I had to take a picture!
