One week post-op! Yeah!

Since I've been neglecting the blog the past couple of days (or week) I've decided another overload of pictures might help to regain some of my faithful viewers. A picture a day over the past week to recap the remarkable healing Hudson has encountered. We go to the plastic surgeon tomorrow to have his stitches taken out. After this appointment, hopefully we're home free for a couple of months! Yea!
Here we go....
APRIL 15th- Moments after surgery in recovery...
Later on that night... finally asleep!

APRIL 16th- Here's Hudson! A little swollen and not very happy :(

APRIL 17th-
Finally home! Gettin' some sips in from this stupid bottle!

APRIL 18th- Feelin' a little better, had some play time on the activity gym with the bats (aka arms!)

APRIL 19th- Beginning to act like his old self- yeah!

FINALLY home!

We've finally made it home! It was a long night, and day! Hudson woke up about every 3 1/2- 4 hours last night very hungry and hurting! He's eating really well now, back to his old self- Mr. Pigglet! We were discharged at about 7:30am this morning, but we had to wait to see his plastic surgeon and speech pathologist one last time. The speech pathologist came in about 8:30am, gave him the once over and said see ya in 4 months! The nurses came and went. By 10:00am, I finally asked a nurse where the surgeon was and found out he was still in another surgery and was coming by afterwards. Lunch time was near and we decided to go ahead and eat since we'd already missed breakfast thinking we were leaving. It was finally 2pm and the surgeon's assistant walked by our room and said "You're still here?" Of course we said "Yes... we're waiting for Dr. Genecov." Well, apparently someone forgot to tell us Dr. Genecov had an emergency and had to leave so he was not going to be able to see us. Wonderful. We were at the hospital an additional 5 hours for NO reason! O well, at least we're finally home. Hudson is doing very well and things are looking good! Poor baby has to sleep with his No Nose on. It doesn't look very comfortable, but I promise he's sleepin' good! Thanks again to everyone who was praying for us and the surgeons. I am SO thankful the day is behind us. It was hard, but God's strength is stronger!
Next stop... we have a follow up appointment in one week to remove the few stitches at the base of his nose and top of his lip. Most likely his next surgery will be in early August (the date is determined by his weight, and as you can see he's not hurting by any means!). His palate surgery will be longer and more intense, but we can get through it!
Baby is sleeping and so should I!
Good night!

The last of lippy....

We started out in a great mood this morning. I looked in his crib about 7am and he was very content, just looking around taking things in! He was extra happy after I changed his dirty diaper! Yuck!We knew it was going to be a BIG day so we had to look EXTRA cute!

Off to Dallas for all of our preop appointments... this is what he did pretty much the entire morning!
Finally, we were able to go to the hotel and relax! We just chilled and played most of the afternoon!
Matt and Hudson had a man to man talk. They really seem to resemble each other, don't ya think?
After dinner with Nana, Pappy, Aunt Pam, Uncle Tim and Nana's friend, Linda, we went back to the hotel got some quick lovin' from Grammy and Abuelo and took a bath!
After the bath, there was a nice bottle and lights out! It was a very tiring day!

Good night lippy- you will be missed!

Day 2.... AND a 3 month old big boy!

Hudson is 3 months old today! Can you believe???
He was not in a very good mood this morning and neither were we (thanks to his starvation spells every 2 1/2 hours last night!). Luckily I was able to snap a few pictures in his o' so cute onesie before we went to work!
Pouty baby... look at those lips!

Down to day 3.... and Happy Easter!

Hoppy Easter y'all!!!
Cute boy in his Baby's First Easter outfit from Grammie!
Hudson's Easter basket!
Hudson fell asleep on the car ride home. Usually he wakes up as soon as he stops moving, but we got home he was still napping so we just left him in his car seat. I decided to take a nap too and when I got up this is how I found him.... 2 HOURS LATER- STILL in his car seat! He had a busy afternoon!
Hudson is SO very talented, he can hold his own bottle! Wow!

Day 4

An angel in the flesh, down for his morning nap.
Mommy and me! And a little bit of a toupee!
Hudson's only a little bit spoiled- he has TWO mobiles in his crib!
Where's Hudson???

5 more days...

This guy KNOWS he's a cutie!
And I agree!

Day 6...

Day 6.
We had a doctor's appointment this morning to make sure all was well. It turned up he had a little bit of an ear infection, but nothing a little antibiotic wouldn't take care of. He weighed an amazing 13 1/2 pounds, and I'm proud to say he's 2 feet tall (and 3/4 inches)! He also had his 2nd rounds of shots this morning so he's been a bit cranky and tired all day. At least he got a cool camo band-aid! We were in a good enough mood to have some tummy time this evening. As usual, he's looking pretty cute!
Of course we had to have a bath before bedtime. He was busy chewing on that fist!
After a little bottle, he was O.U.T!!!

7 Day Countdown...

I've decided to do a picture (or pictures, it's hard to pick just one cute one!) a day to countdown until "the big day." In one week from today Hudson will be a changed man!
Little lippy will be missed dearly!
Mmm in VERY deep thought...
Big smiles for this baby!
Sooooo sleepy, good night!

Look at those big 'ole baby blues!

How I hope Hudson's eyes will stay blue! I think they are SO beautiful- just like his dad's! It's amazing how much he has changed. In his pictures from when he was a few days old he looked a lot like Matt, now I think he's taking on more of my characteristics. Matt seems to think he asks JUST like me when he's fussy and needs something- ha ha, not funny! I think we have the same shaped eyes and face. But, he still has a few more chins than I do! Thank goodness!
