Christmas #3, with the Talkington's

We had a great time in Spring for Christmas. Hudson really enjoyed spending lots of time with his grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins! We were very busy!
Hudson wasn't too into Christmas this year. He was more interested in the tissue paper and boxes.

Hudson sportin' the plumber crack Christmas Eve. (sorry too cute not to post) Grace and Madeline especially had a fun time with Hudson. They are SO good with him, they even dressed him up to be one of their sisters.

A few pictures from Christmas morning. We had a GREAT time in Houston!

Play date with the enchanting, Miss Ruby

Courtesy of www.rubyalbina.blogspot.com and Ruby's dad! Thanks Dave!

Please accept my apologies.

To all my loyal blog readers (if you're out there)... I extremely apologize for not updating the blog on the timely basis I should be. I have some REALLY good excuses, but I will not bore you with them. Any excuse, is not a good excuse- I think. So... I'm now, FINALLY updating my blog, a month later with ALL the posts I would've done- so really, you haven't missed a thing! Enjoy!

My little 11 month old.

Okay... it's more like 11 months, 1 week and 4 days but at least I got it done!

Christmas #2, with Grammy and Pa

Saturday, December 19th we continued the Christmas spirit with Grammy and Pa! Hudson was ready to PAR-TAY!

Hudson did not know what to think of the HUGE wrapped present, however we did know he was going to tear into it and find out!!!At first he was a little afraid of the gigantic spring horse, but... after petting its hair and starring at it for a VERY long time he worked up the courage to touch him. I think they will be best friends. Every kids needs their own Radio Flyer spring horse! -Thanks Grammy and Pa

Christmas #1, with the Lee family

Saturday, December 12th we celebrated Hudson's first Christmas with the Lee family (Matt's mom's side of the family). I don't think Hudson quite knew what was going on, but he was sure excited to play with all his new toys AND the wrapping paper!!!

Turkey Day- yum!

Yum-O! Thanksgiving was a hit with Hudson this year! He especially loved the pumpkin pie, or was it just the ridiculous amount of REAL whip cream (aka calf's slobber, according to my cultured husband:)) he consumed? Either way, it was a great Turkey Day! That's right... he was STUFFED!Hudson and his cousin, Zoey, entertained us with very lovely sounds from the piano. I do believe Hudson has some true, raw talent. Can you say Beethoven and Mozart?
Thanksgiving weekend was gorgeous. We had to take an excursion to the park with cousin Zoey, Aunt Janell and Grammy. We had a great afternoon!

SNEEK PEEK!!!

We had an AMAZING photo session on Sunday for our family, holiday pictures! The weather cooperated, despite the 40% chance of rain. The landscaping was beautiful. The animals behaved (yes... I said animals!). And Leslie, our photographer, did an incredible job!
Check back in the near future for more pictures!!!!

A day in the life of Hudson at the law office.

I'm sure a few of you have wondered "what does Hudson DO at a law office ALL DAY?" Well... here are a few pictures to illustrate my spoiled child's activities!
Sometimes Hudson will "chill" in his chair, take in a movie or two on his personal DVD player.
He LOVES to share a shaved ice with his Grammy!
Just hanging out, having a bottle!
The day in not complete without playing in his animal farm exersaucer.
And of course, Hudson loves jumpin' around in his Jumparoo!
There's always time to learn a new dance step or two with Ms. Barbara!
WHAT A LIFE!

10 months??? TOO old!

Our baby boy is 10 months old today. Where does the time go? We have enjoyed every minute of it. I have to be honest, I almost shed a tear this morning when I pulled out his 10 month onesie. I couldn't believe we are already in the double digits! His first birthday will be here before we know it.

As you can see, Hudson is pretty fabulous these days. He has 2 teeth. He's well over 20 pounds. And SO much fun! We've enjoyed all the silly noises he makes, and watching him take the whole world in. I just wish I knew what he was thinking sometimes. I'm pretty sure he thinks Matt and I are a bunch of crazies. Crazy over him, of course.

Hudson, thanks for bringing so much joy to our lives. Mommma and Mommma (also known as Dada) love you SO much!

Hudson's little "fit."

9 Months Old!

We had a little bit of a difficult time taking pictures yesterday morning. Hudson decided he was WAY too busy to sit still for the camera and smile. Here are just a FEW of the shots I took.
Ging thought she needed to jump in for this photo op!
FINALLY, a decent one. I'll take it.
As you can see, Hudson is still wearing his nose "thingy" from surgery. We have an appointment tomorrow with the plastic surgeon for his 1 month, post-op check up. We're not sure if he'll have to continue wearing it or not. It still looks as though his nostril is going to close because of the scar tissue build up no matter what, so he'll probably have another nose surgery down the road. He's definitely been a REAL trooper! Matt thought he needed to sport the Handy Manny and Tools band-aid across his nose and not just a regular, "blend-in" band-aid if you're wondering why we chose a bright blue band-aid.
Hudson also had his 9 month well visit appointment with his pediatrician yesterday. We thought he HAD to weight AT LEAST 22-23 pounds. We were VERY wrong. He only weighted 19 lbs. 11oz. and 28 1/2 inches long. 40-50% in his weight and 60% in his height. Rest assured he's 90% in his head- still VERY smart!

Ginny the sled (or stroller) dog.

I finally found a stroller I liked for Hudson at Burlington Coat Factory (go figure). Of course, they were out of stock at our store and the closest availability was in Fort Worth. I might as well drive to Houston to pick one up. So I did. Well... not really, but my dad came to pick up my mom this past weekend after her 2 1/2 week long vacation in Pottsboro with Hudson and he brought it. It was a wonderful gift from his Great-Grandad and Granny! Thanks SO much!
Ginger LOVES walks. Always has, probably always will. I found it was a little difficult to hold on to the leash and push the stroller, so I hooked on Ginger's leash to the stroller and AWAY Hudson went. Who would've thought my little 7 pound Yorkie could pull my 20 pound tubby in his stroller. I think we might try out for the Iditarod Great Sled Race next year.

Mush, Ginger, mush.

We have a TOOTH!

Matt discovered Hudson's first sight of a tooth last Friday. I couldn't believe it! I thought his first one would be on the bottom, like every other "normal" child, but I should have known- in true Hudson fashion- his had to come in on the top right next to his cleft. I'm happy to say, at least it's not in the middle of the roof of his mouth! Yeah.
We took this picture last night. It's coming through pretty fast!
He's not a baby anymore. :(

Which utensil....

The plastic surgeon and speech pathologist had strict orders to only feed Hudson by cup or syringe. Well, when you have a screaming baby who doesn't WANT to drink from a syringe OR cup, you'll try ANYTHING. Here's a list of everything we've tried over the past 5 days... which one do you think worked the best???? (well... maybe not the best, but the one we're currently using?)

A. Ketchup bottle dispenser (Yes, I said ketchup.)
B. 2 oz. syringe with rubber tubing
C. 2 oz. Ready to Use Similac bottle, used as a "cup"
D. 5 ml eye dropper
E. 2 tsp. liquid medicine pourer
F. Juice box
G. Baby spoon
H. Dr. Brown's bottle with Level 4 Nipple (fast flow)
I. 0.8 ml Eye dropper from the Tylenol bottle
J. 1 tsp. Syringe
K. 1 oz. Syringe with plastic tubing
L. 2 T. Little medicine cup

(Not Shown... we also seriously thought about using a Turkey Baster)

Answer to come later,...

2nd Surgery- OVER!

Matt and Hudson playing before we head down to the surgery "holding" area. We had to be at the hospital at 6am, surgery was scheduled for 7am. Somehow we had to entertain a very hungry, cranky baby. A room full of toys was just the answer.
Hudson playing with his "ET toe" also known as the pulse-ox monitor. You can't tell in the picture but his toe was lite up bright red and he thought it was pretty interesting.
Hudson was a little out of it after his dosage of baby Valium. He was pretty entertaining.Baby boy in the recovery area after his 2 hour surgery. It was pretty sad. If you can believe it, this was later that evening. He was all smiles.A moment of sleep. We had a pretty rough night after surgery. He woke up every 45minutes to an hour screaming. The speech pathologist called them night terrors. He's still having them, 5 days later, but getting more manageable each night. I think this is the worst part of him having surgery. Surprisingly, the plastic surgeon and speech pathologist cleared us to go home Thursday afternoon. We were shocked, but more than willing to go. The hospital was not a comfortable stay by any means.
5 minutes into the car ride home- he was TIRED!
Finally home, resting with Dad. Thank goodness this one is over with!
